This role is responsible for implementation and maintenance of the GEA Ergonomic / EHS Management Systems. Examples of support include but are not limited to conducting ergonomic assessment, executing compliance assurance program tasks (e.g., conducting audits and inspections), performing environmental inspections, presenting EHS compliance training, and working closely with operators, technicians, and/or skilled trades and their supervisors to develop a robust EHS culture and reliable processes. This role is 100% onsite.PositionEnvironmental Health & Safety (EHS) CoordinatorLocationUSA, Decatur, ALHow You'll Create Possibilities Maintain & prioritize ergonomic problem and action list of all plant ergonomic issues. Develop and implement rotation plans for all cost centers. Act as a technical resource to the business leaders/EHS/engineers for resolution of ergo issues. Work with EHS, Medical staff, Engineering, HR to investigate ergo related injuries and collect, analyze and act on trend analysis. Site expert resource in ergonomics, ensuring awareness, knowledge and understanding ofproper ergonomic methods. Maintain job hazard analysis on all existing jobs and generate analysis for any new jobs(analysis include ergonomic evaluation). Assist EHS department in EHS inspections and other duties as assigned. Must be able to develop & present ergo projects/initiatives to various audiences. Drive standardization across the operation and high-risk processes including but not limitedto overhead cranes, lock out tag out, and ergonomics. Participate on Action Work Outs and utilize Lean Manufacturing concepts. Adhere to all safety practices, regulations & requirements, including safe fork truck drivingrules. Must be able to work other shifts and overtime as needed; all other duties as assigned.What You'll Bring to Our Team

Solid verbal/written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills.

Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to analyze automation equipment issues to implement solutions.

Ability to collaborate with hourly and salary staff to meet the needs of the plant.

Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment with both hourly and salary staff to meet the needs of operators, and the business.

High initiative, self-starter, proactive, dedicated, results oriented.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in safety, ergonomics, engineering, or similar.

Minimum of two (2) years' exp. in safety, health and/or environmental functions or equivalent education and experience, including co-op and internship experience.

Knowledge of relevant local, state and federal safety & environmental regulations and practices.

Demonstrated ability to identify problems, develop alternatives & implement effective solutions.

Ability to work in cross functional team environment.

Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office such as Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in an industrial or high-volume manufacturing environment.

Ergonomics work-related experience or degree/certification.

Job Requirements

Frequent walking and sitting 30-40%.

May require occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.

Working in this environment requires eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toed shoes, and possibly hardhat in some areas.

Must be able to work other shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed, or overtime based on business needs.
