Job Title: Safety Manager
Location: East Dundee, IL 60118

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

We’re a fast-growing transportation company looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Manager to ensure the ongoing safety and compliance of our fleet and drivers. This role is ideal for someone passionate about safety, knowledgeable in DOT/FMCSA regulations, and experienced in handling safety-related matters within the transportation industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all safety and compliance programs to ensure full adherence to DOT/FMCSA regulations
Manage driver qualification files, drug and alcohol testing, and HOS compliance
Lead accident investigations and insurance claims handling with accuracy and professionalism
Track and analyze safety metrics, violations, and incidents to drive continuous improvement
Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
Train and coach drivers on safety procedures and regulatory compliance
Coordinate with operations and dispatch teams to support safe routing and scheduling
Maintain digital safety records and ensure ELD system accuracy
Participate in after-hours emergency support rotation
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in Transportation Safety or Compliance
Strong understanding of DOT/FMCSA regulations and safety protocols
Excellent communication skills, especially when working with drivers and insurance contacts
Familiarity with ELD systems (Samsara preferred)
Proficient in digital recordkeeping and compliance management
Prior experience with audits, accident reporting, and insurance claims handling
Highly organized and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
