Growing logistics company based out of Buffalo Grove IL is looking for an experienced Fleet Manger!
REQUIREMENTS:
- This is a full time position that requires industry knowledge and trucking experience.
- Must have Mechanical knowledge to be able to diagnose issues and problem solve.
- Must Answer phone calls regarding breakdowns, calling road service, directing drivers to nearby repair facilities, making decisions on breakdowns.
- Must check yard to take inventory of equipment and plan outgoing/incoming equipment.
- Follow up on repairs, subunits, rentals and invoices for approved repairs.
- Must be able to communicate professionally in all aspects, especially by email and phone.
- Must be a team player and a possess a strong willingness to help others.
- Develop and implement fleet management strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Coordinate vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance.
- Monitor fuel consumption and implement strategies to improve fuel efficiency.
- Manage fleet budget and expenses.
- Track and analyze fleet data to identify trends and make informed decisions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of goods or services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- CDL preferred but not required
- Hazmat & tanker endorsements a plus
- Must be available 7 days by phone and 5-6 days in person
- Must have 5 yrs+ of industry experience
- Mechanical background is a plus
- Proven experience in fleet management or a related field
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and safety regulations
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
- Problem-solving skills and ability to handle unexpected situations
