JOB DESCRIPTION:
Patchmaster LLC, a dry wall repair company servicing the Chicago and North Shore areas, is looking for a full-time multi-skilled lead drywall repair technician to join our team of drywall repair specialists. Our business is growing considerably, and we are seeking an experienced drywall repair, patching, and finishing technician to perform drywall installation and repair. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, articulate, outgoing, personable and presentable, and can follow a specific process to perform quality drywall repairs. Said technician will also be responsible for managing and training a team consisting of all or some of the following based on the scope of the job: Junior Technicians, Apprentices, and General Laborers. The Lead Technician will provide excellent customer service, while upholding the high standard of doing business, in accordance with the Patchmaster procedures and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in working in construction required
At least 5 years of experience in working with drywall installation and repairs is required.
Ability to efficiently perform verbal and written communication with Owner, GM, co-workers, junior technicians, general laborers and most importantly customers.
Leadership - Ability to train and nurture a Junior Technician during his or her pursuit to becoming a Lead Technician.
Must own a smartphone with a data plan
A valid drivers license, plus a clean driving record.
Basic knowledge of mobile technology, such as gmail and text messaging
Must own all tools needed for drywall repair (take out)
Must have reliable transportation daily
Task-Oriented, with the ability to problem solve on the fly
Ability to organize and maintain a weekly work schedule
Takes pride in his or her work and that of others
Eager to learn and improve every day
Maintain a positive attitude daily
Can balance production and quality, while also hitting deadlines accordingly.
Professional customer service skills
Preparation – Ability to prep workspaces efficiently, while protecting the area and any items within it with the highest level of regard.
Ability to lift up to 75lbs
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform responsibilities daily in reflection and under the guidance of the “Patchmaster Way”
(If company vehicle is provided) Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle.
Maintain a clean and professional appearance throughout the work day under the accordance of the Company dress code.
Maintain an open and professional line of communication with the Owner and General Manager, as well as the Junior Technician placed underneath your tutelage.
Respond quickly and positively to management and customers
Ability to texture and refinish plaster services
Ability and willingness to work on new walls and ceilings, and repair existing walls.
Ability to determine and clearly identify proper materials and material quantities for new and existing projects.
Evaluate customer requests, price projects, troubleshoot customer issues and present a description of a work order to a customer.
Fit and fasten wallboard or sheetrock into specified position
Measure and mark cutting lines on framing, drywall, and trim
Install insulation in-between studs and attach plastic moisture barrier over installation
Remove plaster, drywall or paneling
Use basic mobile technology tools such as Gmail, text messaging.
