We are hiring a Lead Carpenter who can take ownership of builds from layout through finish. You will be responsible for executing residential remodeling work while supporting and mentoring other crew members. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on skills and leadership ability who can maintain quality, stay on schedule, and bring a professional presence to every job.

Key Responsibilities

Perform skilled carpentry, including framing, trim, and finish work

Install cabinetry, doors, crown molding, and other architectural features

Interpret drawings and scopes of work to complete projects accurately

Lead apprentices or laborers on-site and set the standard for quality

Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment

Coordinate with the Site Supervisor on daily tasks and material needs

Communicate proactively and solve issues as they arise

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of hands-on carpentry experience in residential remodeling

High-level skill in finish work, cabinetry, and jobsite layout

Confidence working independently and leading small teams

Own basic tools and a reliable vehicle for transporting materials

Willing to work throughout the northwest suburbs within 45 to 50 minutes of Lake Zurich, IL

Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive, team-oriented mindset

Comfort working in client-occupied homes with professionalism and care

Compensation & Benefits

Full time position

Competitive hourly pay at $35 - $45, based on experience
