Due to retirement, Voss Equipment is seeking a skilled Industrial Battery Service Technician to join the team in Harvey, IL.

If you have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with industrial batteries or lead acid batteries, a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, Voss Equipment wants to hear from you!

Training and mentorship: You will work alongside tenured Battery Techs for about a month and receive factory training and Yale technician certification training, as well as professional development opportunities to continue expanding your skillset.

Essential duties/responsibilities:

Battery Diagnostics & Repair: Perform in-shop battery load testing, diagnostics, acid adjustments, cell replacements, and cable repairs. Recondition industrial batteries, including power washing and painting.

Field Service Work: Travel to customer locations in a company-provided van to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial batteries and chargers.

Preventative Maintenance: Conduct scheduled maintenance on batteries and chargers at customer sites, including watering and washing.

Shop Duties: Assist with various tasks around the shop, keeping the service area and equipment clean and organized.

Inventory Management: Track and account for parts, supplies, and service van inventory.

Documentation: Submit paperwork promptly, ensuring all service and repair records are up to date.

Sales Opportunities: While on-site, identify service and sales opportunities and communicate them to the team.
