Job Description:
MVK Transport is looking for an experienced and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance of our fleet of trucks and trailers. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
### Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct inspections, including DOT compliance checks, to ensure fleet safety.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Keep accurate records of all repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot vehicle issues.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and in compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the operations team to schedule and prioritize repairs.
### Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and computerized truck systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- DOT inspection certification is a plus.
- ASE certification is preferred but not required.
- Must have own tools (preferred but negotiable).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
