Duties & Responsibilities:
Assess condition of gel coat and recommend proper maintenance protocol
Polish and wax gel coats and various painted surfaces
Choose, mix, and apply epoxy to wood or FRP
Perform gel coat/paint cosmetic repairs
Possess knowledge of various fiberglass cloths and their applications and apply to work
Possess knowledge of proper operation of hand and hand-held air/electric tools and apply to work
Possess knowledge of bottom repairs and painting procedures and apply to work
Grind and layup simple laminations
Understand the proper uses of marine grade fairing materials and woods
Maintain finishes to industry standards
Follow all procedures pertaining to safety and personal protection equipment
Ensure quality of work performed
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
High school diploma or GED required
Valid drivers license required
2 years of experience in fiberglass repair and paint finish application (preferably marine, but not required)
Must provide own hand tools
Ability to speak and read English in order to follow instructions on work orders as well as understand product and manual instructions
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job (see below)
Must be able to complete assigned work in an efficient and timely manner
Strong work ethic and personal commitment
Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals
Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
Ability to work comfortably around water
Ability to work in tight spaces
Ability to work at heights of up to 30 feet
