Job description:
The Diesel Mechanic is tasked with inspecting, diagnosing and repairing fleet equipment. Additionally, the candidate will be tasked with performing preventive maintenance on heavy-duty diesel vehicles. This role encompasses inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various systems. Primary systems include D13 (Volvo) and DD15 (Freightliner) engines plus IShift (Volvo) and DT12 transmissions and their sub-systems/components. Additionally, the Diesel Technician supports all mechanical repairs and maintenance aspects of vehicles, machinery, equipment, and facilities.
Responsibilities:
Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
Inspect, diagnose, and repair engine, transmission and other related components
Work independently and in a team under limited supervision, following established procedures and written instructions.
Standard component inspections/ repairs of fleet diesel equipment - D13 (Volvo) and DD15 (Freightliner) engines.
Key repairs are - but not limited to - DPF, EGR, Turbocharger, Valve Adjustments, Engine tear down and rebuilds, Engine Cooling Systems, Aftertreatment, Intercooler, Transmission, Transmission Oil Change, and other
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with Company and OSHA standards, adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Proficient with D13 (Volvo) and DD15 (Freightliner) engines and DD15 (Freightliner) engines plus IShift (Volvo) and DT12 transmissions(clutch system specifically)
Experience with inspecting and servicing radiators, intercoolers, transmission components and related components
Shift: Full-Time Contractor l 1st Shift l 7:00AM-5:00PM Monday-Friday
