Connection has an exciting opportunity for a contract Desktop Technician. Contract is through the end of July, and has a strong possibility to be extended until the end of the year. This person should be local to the Chicago/Schaumburg, IL area. This role is 95% remote, with a small need to occasionally visit the client office once a month (Schaumburg). Looking for someone to start ASAP!
The contract Desktop Technician will be working for our client, for 'remote' deployment work. This individual will assist users with migrating to new laptop computers, assisting with locating their data, basics of a new device, installing printer drivers, and downloading and installing additionally needed software. They will also troubleshoot basic end user issues on various software applications as well as the hardware and provide basic desktop support while delivering excellent customer service. All other unresolved issues will be escalated to the proper support team.
3+ years of desktop support experience.
A+ Certification (or equivalent), preferred not required
Ability to work independently.
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Proficient with troubleshooting all Windows Operating systems
Ability to follow process and procedures provided.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve email issues, specifically MS Outlook
Support commonly used software, hardware, and other equipment
Support back office hardware, printers, software, Web Applications and other networks.
Customer oriented with good listening skills with ability to receive information completely and address their concerns
Ability to exercises patience and professionalism assisting users.
Outstanding customer skills, with the ability to empathize and professionally troubleshoot and resolve customer’s issues.
Good phone skills with ability to provide technical support over the phone in a professional manner
Interpersonal skills with ability to work well with all levels of the organization
