MVP Security Inc., a privately owned company, is currently hiring (full-time, part-time and contractor) security guards to work at our North and South side locations. Shifts vary based on the location and include weekends and holidays. Spanish speaking a plus. RESUME AND CONTACT INFORMATION REQUIRED.
Job Summary:
The Security Guard is primarily responsible for maintaining the site safe and secure.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Conduct regular patrols around the building and perimeter to discourage criminal activities.
Reports suspicious activities and incidences to supervisor.
Contact supervisor, law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
Open or close doors depending on the location.
After business hours, checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
Authoritative verbal communication skills.
Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
Spanish speaking.
Education and Experience:
Current State of Illinois PERC card preferred.
Security guard training certification preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience a plus.
Valid Driver’s License required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
Ability to physically stand, walk or sit for prolonged periods of time for the majority of your shift.
Must be able to lift 20 pounds at a time.
