A Wire and Cable Manufacturing Co. Specializing in Custom Made Wire Products seeking a reliable person who has worked as a Quality Inspector in the manufacturing environment with 1 to 3 years of previous work-related experience.
JOB SUMMARY:
Testing and inspection of wire and cable product at various stages of the production process. Compiles and evaluate data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Evaluate data and complete inspection to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Read work order to determine inspection criteria and verify identification numbers and product type
Test sample, materials or products using various test equipment for conformance to specifications
Measure dimensions of product using measuring instruments such as a ruler, measuring tape, caliper, gauge or
micrometer to verify conformance to specifications.
Notify supervisor or specified personnel of deviations from specifications
Reject products or materials not meeting specifications
Analyze test data, making computations as necessary to determine test results
Read dials or meters to verify that equipment is functioning at specified levels
Monitor production operation or equipment to ensure conformance to specifications, making recommendation to
supervisor so that necessary process or assembly adjustments are made.
Locate reels and routers for cables needing to be tested, in accordance with the priority established by the supervisor
Complete paperwork to include tag information, daily log sheet, red tags, retain sample tags, etc.
Recommend necessary corrective actions, based on inspection results
Maintain a clean, well-organized and safe work environment. Follow all safety procedures including moving reels
correctly, and ensuring that all procedures are followed when applying voltage to the cable
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to conduct tests and inspections of product and processes to evaluate quality and performance of products
Analytical skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning in identifying the strength and weakness of alternative
solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers (deductive reasoning) and combine pieces of
information to form general rules or conclusions including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events
(inductive reasoning)
Ability to observe and obtain information from all relevant sources, use this information along with individual
judgement to determine whether products and processed comply with standards
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual (English / Spanish)
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required
Basic office skills: phone, printer/copier & file
Math skills; arithmetic, algebra, statistics
Computer skills; Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Read and communicate information and ideas in English verbally and written form
Work independently and in a team setting
PHYSCIAL DEMANDS:
Person must be able to stoop, kneel or reach, lift up to 50 lbs. and infrequently lift up to 25 lbs. Specific vision ability required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While working in the plant you are regularly required to sit, stand and walk, use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, climb and balance. Must frequently require to listen and speak, and use his/her hands to operate equipment.
WORK SCHEDULE:
3rd Shift: Sunday to Thursday from 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. and available for OT
Pay Rate: 19.25
