Aerotek is hiring for Mechanical Assemblers in St. Charles

Job Description

This position is responsible for the assembly of low and medium voltage electrical switchgear cabinets for the manufacture of products. Assemblers will be responsible for taking a blueprint or work order, gathering appropriate materials and hardware, using hand and power tools to follow the work instructions and perform a basic inspection to ensure the product is manufactured with quality.

Responsibilities include

Interpret assembly and elevation drawings

Construct modular steel cabinets and copper buss assemblies

Read tape measure

Experience using manual hand tools (wrench, screwdriver, pliers)

Experience with power tools (drill, impact, pneumatic torque wrench)

Work Environment

The facility is a medium sized facility with 60 Employees, they manufacture everything from start to finish in fabrication, welding, wiring, and assembly. The facility is very clean, new, modernly designed and comfortable temperatures to work in.

Shift Time

1st Shift – 6am to 2:30pm

2nd Shift – 3pm to 11:30pm

Contract Length: 6 months / Contract to hire

Compliance Required: Drug Test Required – will not test for

THC ; there is also a pre-employment Physical

Experience:

At least 2 years’ experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Machine Builder or even Automotive Mechanic working in a more job shop environment and not on an assembly line

Must have knowledge of electrical symbols and schematics

Perform basic computer skills

Must be able to use shop equipment and hand tools

Perform basic math functions including an understanding of fractions and decimals

Must take direction, follow instruction and work with others with a positive attitude
