Brightstar Group is a small boutique property management firm dedicated to enhancing the living and working environments in our buildings. Situated in the vibrant Fulton Market district, we manage a diverse portfolio of properties and are committed to maintaining high standards of design and functionality. We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Part-Time Interior Designer to refresh and elevate the common areas of our properties, as well as some of the tenant spaces.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented Part-Time Interior Designer to revitalize the common areas of our buildings in the Fulton Market area, as well as some interior tenant improvements to offices. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about interior design, enjoys working with diverse spaces, and can balance aesthetic appeal with practical considerations. The designer will play a key role in enhancing the visual and functional aspects of lobbies, hallways, lounges, and other communal spaces to ensure they meet the needs and expectations of our residents and tenants – and provides an opportunity for a candidate to build their portfolio in the city’s trendiest neighborhood.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute design concepts for common areas including lobbies, hallways, and shared amenities.

Create detailed design plans, mood boards, and material selections tailored to the unique character of each property.

Assist in space planning, furniture selection, and layout optimization to enhance functionality and flow.

Prepare and present design proposals to the property management team.

Source and procure furniture, finishes, lighting, and accessories in alignment with project budgets and timelines.

Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.

Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and oversee the implementation of design plans.

Stay informed about industry trends and integrate innovative design solutions into our spaces.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in interior design, with a focus on common areas or multi-family properties preferred.

Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Strong understanding of space planning, color theory, and material applications.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to non-design professionals.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.

Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with design trends and resources in the Fulton Market area is advantageous.

What We Offer:

Rate: $25-$35/hr depending on experience.

Flexible working hours that accommodate your schedule.

A collaborative work environment with opportunities for creative input.

The chance to work on a variety of properties and build a design portfolio.

Networking opportunities and professional growth within the property management industry.

How to Apply:

If you are an interior designer with a passion for transforming common spaces and improving tenant experiences, we would love to hear from you! Please reply to this post with your resume, portfolio, and a brief cover letter outlining your interest.
