Small firm seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Intern to assist the attorney in various legal tasks, including legal research, preparation of correspondence, pleadings and briefs. This position is an excellent opportunity for a law student/recent law school graduate or individual waiting to sit for the bar exam looking to gain experience in the legal field while contributing to meaningful work.
Duties:
Conduct thorough legal research using resources such as Westlaw to support case preparation.
Draft legal documents, including pleadings, and motions.
Prepare correspondence, manage docket/attorney’s schedule.
Handle telephone calls and all incoming/outgoing e-mails.
Requirements
Strong skills in legal drafting and document review are essential.
Knowledge of court procedure is a plus.
Ukrainian/Russian speaking is a plus.
Proficiency in using Westlaw, Microsoft Windows, Ms. Word, Excel or similar tools is a plus.
Excellent writing skills with attention to detail and clarity.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the attorney.
Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
