Lab Technician - Position Overview
The successful candidate will report directly to the Technical Director of Research and Technology and will ensure quality products and process through testing and inspection at various stages of the production process
Key Responsibilities
Performing the required testing of base asphalt, finished emulsions, polymer modified asphalt, and raw materials
Collecting and compiling of samples at different stages in the production process to prepare physical analysis and reports
Preparing basic laboratory reports by recording the necessary data on charts, graphs and forms to be
used by the Technical Director of Research and Technology and Production Supervisor
Following and adhering to Laboratory Quality Control SOPs
Maintaining good record keeping practices and strict adherence to quality and safety programs
Gathering relevant data as requested by the Technical Director of Research and Technology and Senior
Manufacturing team to ensure quality standards are met
Other projects and assignments related to research and quality assurance may be assigned
Work with production and engineering on special projects as directed
Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 programs including Word, Excel and Outlook
Must possess a willingness to learn and the ability to follow instructions take directions
Experience in heavy manufacturing environment, preferred, but not required
Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
Possess effective oral and written communication skills
Physical Requirements
Must be able to walk and/or stand 75-100% of the shift.
