Jon-Don is a national value-added distributor of equipment, supplies, and training for specialty contractors in the water and fire restoration, concrete surface prep and polishing, building service/janitorial, and carpet cleaning end markets, with 17 facilities located throughout the United States. Jon-Don gives specialty contractors and in-house service providers across multiple industries everything they need to keep things clean, safe, and looking their best. Jon-Don utilizes a multi-channel distribution strategy to serve our customers, including brick and mortar stores, online websites, direct sales force, and inside sales. Since 1978, we’ve been providing not just the equipment and consumables they need, but the real-world knowledge, rolled-up sleeves approach, and rock-solid reliability they can’t find with other suppliers.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As Jon-Don continues to improve its customer service and reach, we are expanding beyond our standard model of retail and warehouse locations to a Distribution/Fulfillment network. Each DC will be managed by a Distribution Center (DC) Manager who will oversee all aspects of their facility to drive an efficient and effective operation to serve the surrounding customers and Jon-Don stores with the accurate and on-time shipment of orders.
The DC Manager will be a part of the Logistics team and will report to the National Director of Logistics. He/she will work cross-functionally with key internal business partners including Inventory Management, Transportation, Sales, and other key areas that the distribution operations service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and lead the daily activities of the distribution center team.
Provide coaching and counseling to ensure strong team dynamics, professional growth, and limit employee turnover.
Follow and enforce Jon-Don warehouse processes within their facility.
Review existing processes against prior experiences and practical applications and recommends improvements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility.
Monitor and maintain payroll for all personnel within their facility.
Responsible for DC expense budget control
Ensure that all inbound product is received and posted and put away within 24 hours of delivery
Responsible that all customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped in time with the customer requirements
Communicates issues both internally, with the other members of leadership, and with the National Director of Logistics, as they arise
Able to be certified and operate forklifts and other powered equipment
Trains and certifies employees on the proper power equipment techniques and responsibilities.
Responsible for the daily opening and closing of the facility, inclusive of security measures.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in related field required – Supply Chain, Operations, Distribution
3+ years experience in B2B distribution center management.
Experience with ERP, WMS, TMS, and RF technology
Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Creative thinker – the ability to see the big picture and not just follow the process, the ability to solve the right problem, not just the obvious problem
Natural curiosity and not being satisfied with the quick answer continues to ask why and dig into the details where needed
Able to work cross-functionally within the organization and function within multiple reporting relationships
High sense of urgency
Process-oriented, with a focus on time management and managing multiple priorities
Ability to prioritize tasks and workload
Strong stakeholder management skills, keeping informed those who are involved in key topics as they progress

Able to travel when required
Work Environment and Physical demands:
Warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations
Exposure to noise and vibrations from a variety of equipment
Physical activity includes; regular standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs and or ladders, working on elevated platforms, use hands to lift and pull
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lb
