Urban Alternatives, Inc, a real estate property management company, is seeking a Full-Time Apartments Maintenance Tech. Our office is based in Chicago, IL in the Austin neighborhood. We manage properties in Chicago, IL and Gary, IN. We are a family-owned business with about 25 employees and 1 friendly Goldendoodle office dog.
JOB OVERVIEW FOR MAINTENANCE TECH I (ENTRY LEVEL) :
The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance work orders for our residential properties. This is not a janitorial role.
Other information:
- Full-Time, 40 hours
- Must be available for emergency calls, monthly rotation with bonus
- Must have own tools
- Valid Drivers License & car insurance, SSN, and a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in varied conditions
QUALIFICATIONS/GENERAL WORKING KNOWLEDGE IN:
- 1-2 years of experience in a maintenance, facilities or technical role
- Drywall repair
- Plumbing, Rodding, ex.) problem solve leak issues
- Minor electrical, outlets, light fixtures
- Maintenance on HVAC, forced air, steam boilers, and hot water boilers
- General Painting/Carpentry
- Appliance maintenance
- Other general maintenance knowledge relating to roofs, masonry, etc.
- Extermination is a plus

- Being Punctual, Reliable and Ready to Work
- Work Independently, willing to troubleshoot before asking for help
-Ability to communicate, have a neat and professional appearance
OTHER DETAILS
- Compensation will be $19.00-$24.00 depending on experience.
- Bonus for On-Call, monthly rotation
