Precision Human Resources, a division of Precision Payroll of America, has a unique opportunity for an entry level Human Resources Consultant. The HR Consultants role is to provide HR support and consultancy services to outside companies and organizations in a wide range of generalist human resources activities. Candidate must be bi-lingual Spanish/English.
Precision Human Resources supports Chicagoland small to mid-sized organizations, many with limited HR expertise in-house.
This is a regular, full-time, exempt level position with a full benefits package. Salary between $40,000 and $45,000.
Position Summary:
Responsibilities will include working on basic consulting projects, client support activities and supporting higher-level HR projects. This will include direct client communication and support, both in-person and remotely. The HR Consultant will continue to learn and develop consulting knowledge and competencies through hands-on activities. The position also includes some activities supporting in-house HR administration needs. The individual will be trained by two senior HR consultants.
Delivers and supports HR Consulting in the following areas:
HR HelpDesk services
Employer handbook creation and revision
Employer legal compliance requirements
Benefits administration
Human capital data management systems
Employer policy and document preparation and interpretation
Recruiting
Employee relations
Performance management
Compensation programs
Training and development
The HR Consultant will also attend HR industry meetings and events to develop and maintain external referral relationships.
Requirements:
MUST be bi-lingual Spanish/English.
Some experience required working in Human Resources, such as an internship at a minimum.
A strong desire to work in the HR Consulting industry supporting small and mid-sized business.
High level of skill with writing, grammar and editing for preparing employer handbooks and policies. Skill in interpreting, improving and preparing accurate and professional documents and correspondence.
High personal standards for quality of work and customer satisfaction.
Eager to learn and expand their HR expertise.
Must have a valid drivers license and ability to visit clients on-site as needed in a personal vehicle.
Diligence to understand client issues and needs and provide comprehensive and successful advice.
Drive to keep up to date on changing legal and compliance issues.
Skill in reading and interpreting documents such as employee policies and procedures, handbooks, and benefits information.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with clients at all levels of the organization.
Ability to obtain critical information through effective questioning and listening skills.
Ability to apply common sense understanding and analyze numerous facts to carry out instructions and reach the best solution for the client.
Skill in managing multiple tasks and projects with varying priorities/urgencies with interruptions.
Ability to occasionally network at events which are before or after the normal workday.
Able to be highly productive working independently or with limited supervision.
Willingness to work occasional additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.
Good professional appearance.
Able to work efficiently as a team member.
Flexible to assist with numerous daily HR administrative tasks.
Preferred:
Several years of hands-on experience in an HR role in an organization, preferably a generalist role.
Prefer some experience with hands-on employee benefits.
Knowledge of federal and local employment laws and best practices.
Strong presentation and public speaking skills or capabilities.
Education:
Requires a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Human Resources/Industrial Psychology
