We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping patients achieve optimal vision through the fitting and dispensing of eyewear. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that patients receive the best optical care possible.
Duties
Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and lifestyle needs.
Fit and adjust eyeglasses to ensure proper fit and comfort.
Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care.
Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with optometrists to provide comprehensive patient care.
Process orders for eyewear, including managing laboratory tasks as needed.
Handle retail sales transactions efficiently, utilizing retail math skills to ensure accuracy.
Provide support in billing processes as required.
Stay updated on the latest optical trends, technologies, and products to enhance patient experience.
Requirements
Previous experience as an Optician.
Knowledge of optical terminology, products, and services is essential.
Familiarity with laboratory processes related to eyewear production is a plus.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including senior care clients.
Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Compulink or Nextech is advantageous.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
