We are seeking a kind, reliable, and team-oriented weekend live in caregiver with a proven track record to provide assistance ( Friday 9:00pm to Monday 9:00am) for lovely woman with early-stage dementia in her active household in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. Her adult children are heavily involved in her care and the management of the household. This position is managed by an agency. While shifts are solo, you will be working as part of a team with other shift caregivers and will participate in and help create recreational opportunities for the patient. The household has holiday parties and regular visitors, so a caregiver who is comfortable in a social environment is desired. While she is mobile, she requires support with showering, toileting, and general supervision to ensure her well-being. She is active and participates in out of house activities.

Responsibilities Include:

Assisting with showering and personal hygiene.

Providing support with toileting.

Offering gentle supervision and companionship, being mindful of the client's early-stage dementia.

Driving the client to appointments for recreation and medical needs.

Light duty housework projects.

Light tidying related to the client's immediate needs.

Collaborating closely and communicating effectively with other caregivers, the client's adult children, and the managing agency to ensure consistent and high-quality care.

Participating in and creating recreational activities for the patient.

Qualifications:

Proven track record as a caregiver with references, experience caring for individuals with dementia is a plus.

Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor, with an understanding of the challenges associated with early-stage dementia.

Reliable and punctual.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with family members, a care giving team, and an agency, even during solo shifts.

Comfortable in an active household with regular visitors and holiday gatherings.

Enthusiastic about engaging in and developing recreational activities.
