A dynamic, inclusive, sustainability-focused catering company is seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team. This position begins part-time, with the potential to evolve into a full-time role. This is a unique opportunity to shape and elevate our pastry department. If you love crafting high-quality baked goods, take pride in presentation, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you!

What We’re Looking For:

2+ years of professional baking experience in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen.

Strong skills in scratch baking—savory and sweet pastries, breakfast breads, cookies, cakes, pies, galettes, mini desserts, ice cream, and more.

Cake decorating expertise, including wedding cakes from cutting cakes to multi-tiered designs.

A creative mind for developing seasonal, farm-inspired desserts using locally sourced ingredients.

Meticulous attention to detail in plating, presentation, and overall pastry design.

Experience with vegan and gluten-free baking is a plus.

Excellent time management, ability to plan ahead and stay organized.

A team player who can also work independently.

Openness to constructive feedback and adaptability to last-minute changes.

Comfortable with lifting heavy boxes and items, and being on your feet for extended periods.

Flexible schedule—primarily daytime hours with some weekend shifts during peak season.

Leadership Opportunity:

As the Pastry Chef, you will have the chance to lead and develop the pastry department, bringing your vision to life. Working under the guidance of our executive chef and owner, you'll have the autonomy to innovate and make a significant impact.

Creative Impact:

We are looking for someone with exceptional creativity to make a significant impact on our summer Urban Farm Dinner series and events. This role offers the opportunity to design and craft desserts that highlight ingredients from our own farm, creating memorable culinary experiences for our guests.

Additional Responsibilities (for Full-Time Consideration):

Ordering kitchen supplies, ingredients, and disposables.

Kitchen organization.

Supporting event prep and occasional on-site catering.

Maintaining a clean and organized station.

Helping maintain our high environmental and sustainability standards.

Perks & Benefits:

Complimentary staff meals.

Health insurance if 32+ hours per week (50/50 after 90 days).

PTO after 6 months.

Most major holidays off, including the day after Thanksgiving and a week around Christmas.

Corporate donation matching (up to $150).
