About Us

Kororin started as a small “onigiri shuttle” and has grown into a wholesale food company distributing to over 50 stores and markets across Chicagoland.

We’re a diverse, values-driven team that believes in mutual respect, collaboration, and building a company our team is proud to work for.

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Kitchen Production Assistant to join our growing team.

This role is essential to our daily operations — helping prepare fresh onigiri (Japanese rice balls), maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality.

This is a great opportunity for those looking to grow their skills in food production and join a supportive, fast-paced team environment.

Speed, accuracy, attention to detail, and food safety are very important in this role.

If you have previous kitchen or sushi experience, we’re happy to offer a starting rate of up to $19/hour.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation

● Assist with ingredient preparation (washing, cutting, measuring, mixing)

● Follow recipes and portioning guidelines accurately and efficiently

● Help assemble ready-to-eat onigiri and maki products under supervision

Kitchen Maintenance

● Keep kitchen and prep areas clean, sanitized, and well-organized

● Wash and store dishes, utensils, and equipment properly

● Follow health and food safety procedures at all times

Inventory & Stock

● Monitor stock levels and notify team when items run low

● Receive, label, and properly store all deliveries

● Organize ingredients and maintain cleanliness in storage areas

What We’re Looking For

● Previous kitchen experience preferred (especially in sushi or food prep)

● Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently with a team

● Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and food safety guidelines

● Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks

● Positive attitude and willingness to learn

If you’re passionate about food, enjoy working with your hands, and want to help bring onigiri to more people in Chicago, we’d love to meet you!
