Banford Road Farm is a certified organic vegetable & flower farm in Woodstock, IL. We are looking to hire 2 part time helpers to run our market stands at the Evanston & Park Ridge Farmers Markets. The markets are every Saturday morning from May through October. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys farmers markets, believes in organic farming, and is friendly with customers. You will need to be able to lift heavy boxes of vegetables and work efficiently to restock throughout the morning. You need to be able to do quick mental math to add up items because we don't use a computer or tablet at the market. All our prices are whole dollar amounts, and we don't add on sales tax, so it's actually fairly simple to add up in your head. One perk of the job is you can take home some of our vegetables for free, and sometimes other vendors are willing to trade with us for free as well. $17/hour cash.
The Evanston market position is every Saturday from 6:30am to 1pm. If the market slows down you can possibly leave earlier by 11a or noon.
The Park Ridge market position is every Saturday from 6:30am to 10:30am.
