BellaRu Catering is growing and we are looking to add an experienced Sous Chef/Kitchen manager to our Kitchen Catering team.
We have a number of brands that are under BellaRu including Mis Dos Magos Events, Nina's Empanadas & Dumplings, Pana Dining & BellaRu Homemade.
We specialize in melding world cuisines to create harmonious meals. We also do lots of other things besides weddings including markets, festivals, food truck events, monthly cooking classes, farm dinners, food donation giveaways, pop up restaurants and concepts, etc.
The Job Entails, but is not limited to.
Cooking a wide variety of food in a high volume catering kitchen
Working offsite and onsite private events
Working Food truck Markets and Festivals
CLEANING CLEANING and more CLEANING
Assisting with ordering and receiving, stocking of food, beverages, disposables and more
Assisting with overseeing the kitchen staff, quality control, expediting, waste management, cost control, and general organization of kitchen
Preparing and plating for tastings
Should be able to jump into any kitchen position at any time including cleaning and end of day duties
Have knowledge of menu in full
Ensure proper sanitation and safety standards
Maintaining open line of communication with management
Managing and Mentoring kitchen staff on a daily basis
Menu development and implementation of new recipes into the mix
Willing to go above and beyond for the good of the company, knowing the company has your back
Qualifications
Must have a flexible schedule to work nights and weekends when needed
Experience working as a line cook or higher for at least 5 years
Ability to work overtime when needed
Strong knowledge of international cuisines
Strong level of cleanliness and sanitation standards
Ability to work independently
Knowledge of basic sauces and preparations that can be built upon
Confidence and strong cooking ability
Speaks kitchen & Speaks Spanish
Great organizational & time management skills
Keeps their cool under pressure
Awareness of HAACP standards
Valid ServeSafe Sanitation Management & Allergen Certificate
Proficient computer skills in English
Physical ability to lift heavy, bulky items of up to 50#, to stand for long periods of time, etc.
