Our family-owned grocery store in Chicago (60630), is hiring a Deli & Cashier Clerk to join our team. Applicants must be able to speak Polish.
Responsibilities
Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders to ensure a positive experience.
Prepare deli items following established recipes and maintain freshness and quality.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including equipment and work surfaces.
Operate the cash register efficiently, handle cash, credit, and other payment transactions accurately.
Provide customers with receipts, and resolve any payment issues.
Apply basic math skills when working as a cashier at the register to ensure accurate transactions.
Collaborate with team members to support efficient operations during busy periods.
Adhere to all food safety guidelines and health regulations to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
as deli experience, including slicing meats and cheeses, preparing salads, and following food safety guidelines.
Speaks Polish (required, as many customers speak Polish).
Is friendly, dependable, and focused on customer service.
Can perform both deli counter and cashier tasks.
Available to work full-time, including weekends.
Demonstrates good customer service and effective communication with customers and team members.
Possesses basic math skills needed for handling transactions.
Able to clean and sanitize work areas to maintain high standards of hygiene.
