Pro Shop Pizza Co. in Chicago is hiring a dishwasher/busser/utility person to be a part of our team. Candidates must have Thursday through Monday evening availability beginning as early as 5pm and should be prepared to work as late as 10pm to 2am, depending on business volume.
Duties & Responsibilities
Wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils, cookware, and glassware using a commercial three-compartment sink and dish machine
Polish clean glassware, plates, and utensils to ensure they are spotless and ready for service
Support servers and bartenders by pre-bussing and clearing tables throughout service
Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of the dining room and bar areas
Clean and restock restrooms throughout the shift and during closing duties
Take out trash and recycling regularly and ensure waste areas are clean and organized
Assist kitchen team in end-of-night cleaning procedures, including shutting down equipment and sanitizing surfaces
Help reset the dining room and bar areas at close, ensuring readiness for the next service
Maintain a clean, organized dish station and follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
Provide direct support to the front-of-house team by ensuring tables are cleaned, reset, and guest-ready promptly
Requirements
Qualified candidates must possess the following characteristics and experience:
Be of legal age to work at least 30 hours per week in the City of Chicago
Legally allowed to work within the United States
Must have regular access to email and utilize the internet (or phone app) for scheduling, payroll, and internal communication
Demonstrate the ability to operate and properly clean a high-temperature commercial dishwashing machine
Lift at least 50 lbs. to shoulder level
Demonstrate the ability to transport and change a 1/2 barrel keg
Compensation
This role pays $16.20-$17.00 per hour, plus tips.
Work Environment/Physical Demands Summary
This job operates in a fast-paced restaurant environment and may require the employee to stand for long periods of time. There is regular exposure to food allergens, high-temperature cooking equipment, chemical cleaning products, and pest/insect control substances. The employee must also safely and properly use and store provided cleaning supplies each shift. The employee must also be comfortable operating a high-temperature commercial dishwashing machine. It is the employee's responsibility to maintain proper personal hygiene at all times, wear food protection gloves and hairnets, and consistently and efficiently wash hands to prevent contamination of foods and food contact surfaces. The role requires the employee to periodically use various kitchen tools and equipment, including those that are sharp and/or heavy.
The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of a restaurant with an open seating floor plan. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday as business needs arise. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and the employee will need to be capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.
