Dishwasher Job Description

We are looking for a Dishwasher to join our kitchen staff and maintain cleanliness around our restaurant.

Dishwasher responsibilities include collecting used dishes, plates and utensils, loading washing machines and stacking washed items appropriately. If you want to kickstart your career in the restaurant industry and be part of the behind-the-scenes operations, we’d like to meet you. Note that this role requires working in shifts and, occasionally, during evenings or weekends.

Ultimately, you’ll help provide an unforgettable dining experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas.

Load and unload dishwashing machines.

Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate china).

Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately.

Set up workstations before meal prep begins.

Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours.

Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and place orders when necessary.

Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues.

Remove garbage regularly.

Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor.

Requirements and skills

Work experience as a Dishwasher.

Hands-on experience with industrial washing machines.

Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed.

Time management skills.

Attention to detail and sanitation rules.

Availability to work in shifts, during weekends and evenings.

High school diploma is a plus.

Prep Cook Job Description

Prep Cook is responsible for setting up workstations in the kitchen and preparing ingredients for the cooking process. The prep cook is required to perform basic cooking duties, monitor stock levels, and take on culinary tasks as they arise.

To be a successful prep cook, you should understand and be willing to comply with food and sanitation guidelines and regulations, be quick and diligent, and be willing to improve on the job. A top-notch prep cook should be able to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.

Prep Cook Responsibilities:

Setting up and sanitizing workstations.

Following prep lists created by chefs.

Measuring ingredients and seasonings and preparing cooking ingredients such as soup stock to be used in the cooking process.

Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible.

Use FIFO method to minimize food waste.

Assisting chefs in preparing food and attending to any culinary tasks that arise.

Supervising food and cooling room temperatures.

Accepting or rejecting ingredients from suppliers.

Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen.

Prep Cook Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Culinary school training would be advantageous.

Experience as a prep cook may be advantageous.

Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.

Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The cook’s responsibilities include following instructions relating to the timely preparation of food orders, organizing workstations, and assisting other cooks as needed. You should also be able to ensure that the refrigerators and storerooms are kept clean and tidy.

To be successful as a cook, you should be able to use various cooking techniques and methods to prepare meals that meet our customers’ expectations. Ultimately, a top-notch cook should be able to handle multiple food orders without compromising on quality.

Cook Responsibilities:

Preparing and assembling ingredients for menu items.

Preparing high-quality meals and food items according to company recipes.

Storing excess food at the correct temperature in order to avoid spoilage.

Ensuring that food portions and food presentation meet company standards.

Monitoring supplies and re-ordering stock as needed.

Ensuring that cooking utensils are clean before each use.

Cleaning and sterilizing food preparation areas.

Assisting other cooks to ensure that food orders are completed in a timely manner.

Efficiently resolving problems with customers’ orders.

Cook Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.
