As a temporary position, this role is not eligible for Rush benefits.Shift: Shift 1Work Schedule: 8 Hr (8:00:00 AM - 5:00:00 PM) - hybrid - 2 days a week in office, 3 days a week remotePay Range: $52,416 - $82,555Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.Summary:The Business Operations Manager manages one or more of the following: budgets, accounts receivable and payable, purchasing, fund reconciliation and human resource functions for the department. The role serves as a departmental liaison to finance, budget, purchasing, legal affairs, etc. Additionally, the position serves as a resource to the leadership team with regards to strategic planning, budget forecasting, human resource planning, etc. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Required Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in business OR 7 years of experience in business operations.

Demonstrated knowledge of accounting procedures.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Access; advanced Excel skills required.

Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain string working relationships with all levels of staff.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to handle confidential personnel and budget information. Resourcefulness and the ability to take initiative required.

Ability to work both independently and as collaborative with other departments.

Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Ability to think strategically, conceive and manage projects, independently identify problems and develop solutions.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance major.

Responsibilities:

Serves as departmental interface with the Budget Office and Purchasing Department, training and supporting staff with all requirements related to expense processing.

Supports decision-making by members of the office's leadership team by providing budget projections, revenue forecasts and lending technical and administrative expertise as needed to the campaign planning process as regards budget issues.

Analyzes cost center and departmental budget comparisons monthly and creates quarterly budget variance reports; advises the areas of potential savings and consolidation.

Prepares annual personnel and operational budgets ensuring that departmental budget is within the Rush Budget Office's target.

Generates detailed financial reports during last quarter of the fiscal year to determine proximity to approved budget and analyze the impact of changes made during the fiscal year.

Orients and provides on-going support to departmental staff on Rush policies and procedures related to outside vendors, including contract review and approval, purchase orders and invoices. Serves as a key point person with vendors regarding invoices, ensuring that vendors are paid in a timely manner.

Assists with budget planning, analyzes budgets and provides reports; implements problem-solving strategies to resolve budget issues; provides training and oversight on the budget process and other administrative operational functions.

Serves as departmental expert on personnel policies and benefits and support decision-making regarding staffing needs; liaises with human resources regarding hiring and professional development; coordinates the hiring process and works with HR to post open positions.

Oversees the on-boarding process for new employees, working closely with the hiring manager.

Maintains departmental personnel files and job descriptions.

Assists departmental managers and leadership with coordinating the performance evaluation and merit processes, promotions, retroactive increases, supplemental compensation requests, terminations and leaves of absence. Coordinates and handles requests for temporary employees. Office Administration

Works with administrative staff to ensure accurate and timely submission of travel authorizations, expense reports, LEAP reimbursements, equipment repairs and supply orders.

Manages office construction, improvements and office moves. Meets with architects, designers, contractors and other departments/workers as necessary to address facility needs.

Performs related duties as required.
