Staff Accountant

Description We are offering a contract to hire opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team in the Real Estate & Property industry, based in CHICAGO, Illinois. This role involves a variety of tasks related to managing our company's general ledger. The Staff Accountant will play a key part in conducting bank reconciliations, handling accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with month-end close processes.Responsibilities: Handle the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions Manage accounts receivable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness Conduct regular bank reconciliations Maintain and update the general ledger Prepare and post monthly journal entries Assist in the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reports Utilize financial software systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP to streamline accounting tasks Respond to any inquiries regarding accounting records and processes. Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with Bank Reconciliations Knowledge of General Ledger maintenance Ability to prepare and maintain Journal Entries Experience with Month End Close procedures Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
