PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES · Provides legal administrative support to ComEd Real Estate attorneys, including assisting in the preparation of general real estate correspondence, memoranda, reports, PowerPoint, other Legal Department documents and other office support functions. · Under the direction of an attorney, review and assess comments to form transmission and distribution easements, review/compare legal descriptions on various documents, review, draft and amend license and lease provisions, prepare various real estate documents from templates, coordinate with in-house and outside counsel on specific legal issues, and organization of real estate research files, memorandum, and other legal documents. · Under supervision of attorney review title commitments and underlying title documents and assess applicability to matters. · Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with clients to obtain and clarify information needed to substantiate facts, identify documents, and otherwise support legal actions. · Participates or handles department-wide special projects as appropriate. JOB SCOPE This person will deal with confidential material. Must be committed to producing products of high-quality involving court documents and other legal matters. Relieves attorneys of clerical and administrative work and business detail. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS · Paralegal or associates degree and 4 years experience preferred; bachelors degree can substitute for 2 years of experience; 6 years law firm,Utility Company, Project Management, legal department experience in lieu of degree is acceptable · Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office and other technologies used by Legal including PowerPoint and Excel and document management and · Must have very high skills in attention to detail, outstanding clerical skills, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality. · Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and discretion and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. · Demonstrated administrative, organizing and planning skills. · Good initiative and judgment required in determining course of action in the occasional absence of established procedures.
