Project Accountant

Description We are in search of a Project Accountant to join our team. Located in Chicago, Illinois, this role is an exciting opportunity to work in the industry and utilize your skills, such as Quickbooks Online, to effectively manage project related accounts. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Accurately process and manage project-related financial transactions. Maintain thorough records of project expenses and revenues. Participate in project budget planning and implementation. Coordinate with project managers to ensure all financial aspects of the project are in line with financial goals. Resolve any financial inquiries related to the project. Monitor project accounts and take necessary actions to keep them up-to-date. Prepare and present detailed project financial reports. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards in project accounting practices. Assist in the development of financial strategies for projects. Collaborate with the financial team to enhance and streamline project accounting procedures. Requirements Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. Proven proficiency in QuickBooks Online is a must. Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Prior experience in a project-based role is preferred. Ability to interpret and analyze financial data. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. CPA certification is a plus. Solid understanding of project management principles.
