Our Academic ModelOur academic model is unique and creates a very different and exciting place to work. We provide diverse types of learning experiences such as Socratic seminars, small group instruction, hands-on labs and collaborative student projects. Team teaching is core to our model. All math, ELA and Spanish teachers teach in teams where they plan together and work with students in larger spaces. Teachers in other subjects are expected to plan collaboratively and often co-teach to support our special education and ESL students. We use technology to personalize learning and to help students make deeper connections to content. As a result of this structure, teachers are able to better assess and meet individual student needs. Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Part-Time Mandarin Translator to assist with day-to-day translations at our high school. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of both Mandarin and English, and will provide translation support for students, staff, and parents. Key Responsibilities:
Translate written and spoken communications between Mandarin and English for students, teachers, and parents.
Assist in translating academic materials, newsletters, and school notices.
Facilitate effective communication during parent-teacher meetings and school events.
Support students in understanding classroom instructions and assignments.
Ensure accuracy and cultural sensitivity in all translations.
Qualifications:
Fluency in Mandarin and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Previous translation experience preferred, especially in an educational setting.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
Reliable and able to manage time efficiently to meet translation needs.
