Description We are on the search for a meticulous and dedicated Paralegal to become a part of our team. Situated in CHICAGO, Illinois, this role involves supporting our law firm which specializes in plaintiff work, including areas like medical malpractice, nursing home, construction, and premises law. As a Paralegal, you will be expected to handle client communication, manage schedules, and respond to discovery requests, all while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and accuracy.Responsibilities: Facilitate communication with clients, providing them with status updates and answering their queries Handle the scheduling of depositions, ensuring all parties are informed and available Respond to discovery requests in a timely and thorough manner Support two partners, providing them with the necessary assistance for their legal work Ensure all client and case information is up-to-date and accurately recorded Contribute to the team's plaintiff work, focusing on areas such as medical malpractice, nursing home cases, construction, and premises law Adhere to legal standards and protocols, maintaining the firm's commitment to professionalism and accuracy. Requirements Hold a Bachelor's degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field. Have proven experience as a Paralegal, preferably in the medical malpractice area. Possess a Paralegal certification, as per the state requirements. Display a comprehensive understanding of medical malpractice law and procedures. Show strong research skills, particularly in legal and medical databases. Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills. Be proficient in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Possess strong organizational and administrative skills. Show exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Have the ability to work independently and also as part of a team. Exhibit a high level of discretion and confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the information handled. Be willing to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Show commitment to continuous detail-oriented development and learning in medical malpractice law. Have the ability to adapt to new situations and changing priorities.
