OverviewThis is NO UNION on call seasonal snow removal position for City of Chicago Zone 1 (AREA NW SITE OF THE CITY: ROOSEVELT to DEVON and HARLEM to KEDZIE) and requires the employee to work on multiple buildings to remove snow from the sidewalks. Shift starts at 11PM or midnight (12AM) and employee needs to be able work for 10, 12,14 or more hours till snow removal is done up to the city expectation. This is physical work using equipment such as snowblowers, shovels etc. YOU MUST COMPLETE AN ABM BACKGROUND CHECK INCLUDING DRUG TEST. Each new hired employee who will be working in snow is responsible for their own winter clothing such as a winter jacket, hat, gloves, winter boots etc. Zone 1 has three (3) groups for snow removal. Their meeting places before the snow removal are TEAM #1 – 5151 N. Milwaukee (16th District Police) TEAM #2 – 5555 W. Grand (25th District Police) TEAM #3 – 5701 W.
