Network Engineer

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Network Engineer in Chicago, Illinois. to join our client's team in the finance. In this role, you will focus on maintaining system reliability and uptime, managing system capacity, and automating repetitive or error-prone manual processes. Responsibilities: Maintain system reliability and uptime to ensure seamless operations Monitor system performance and manage capacity to meet business demands Automate repetitive and error-prone manual processes to improve efficiency Research and implement new technologies to stay at the forefront of the industry Troubleshoot network issues using Linux and network troubleshooting best practices Manage workload effectively, demonstrating attention to detail Use scripting languages such as Python and shell to automate tasks Configure firewall and VPN with attention to network security Plan and execute network migrations and configure new servers Utilize knowledge of network hardware including Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Cisco Routers, and Cisco Technologies.Requirements Proven experience as a Network Engineer or relevant role for at least 5 years In-depth knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, co-located data centers, and Cisco ASA Proficiency in Cisco Routers and Cisco Technologies Understanding of Computer Hardware and Configuration Management Capability to design network infrastructure Familiarity with Eigrp and Firewall Technologies Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other stakeholders Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously Relevant certification in networking such as CCNA, CCNP would be advantageous.Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
