Description We are in the process of recruiting a Medical Malpractice Legal Assistant to become an integral part of our team. The role involves a wide range of tasks within the legal field, with a particular focus on medical malpractice. The position is based in Chicago, Illinois, offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Handle incoming calls professionally and promptly to ensure effective communication Organize and manage the calendar efficiently, ensuring all appointments and deadlines are met Schedule crucial events such as appointments and depositions, ensuring all parties are informed in a timely manner Summarize medical records accurately for easy reference and understanding Draft abstracts meticulously, ensuring all relevant information is included File court documents appropriately, ensuring all procedures and deadlines are adhered to Utilize various software such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), and CompuLaw to perform tasks effectively Manage client relations, maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service Administer claims effectively, ensuring all necessary procedures are followed Carry out billing functions accurately, ensuring all charges are correctly recorded and collected. Requirements Proficiency in using Aderant software for legal case and document management. Ability to use Adobe Acrobat for document creation, editing, and management. Experience with Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) for real estate documentation. Familiarity with Case Management Software for efficient handling of legal cases. Knowledge of CompuLaw for managing deadlines and schedules. Ability to handle Billing Functions including invoice generation, tracking, and reconciliation. Proficiency in Calendar Management for scheduling appointments, deadlines, and meetings. Experience in Claim Administration, including filing, tracking, and managing legal claims. Strong Client Relations skills to maintain and enhance relationships. Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear and effective interaction. Specific experience and knowledge in Medical Malpractice law, including understanding of related legal procedures, terminology, and documentation.
