Description Robert Half is in search of a Legal Assistant to join a growing law firm in Chicago, Illinois. The role involves supporting attorneys in a range of tasks from drafting and filing court documents, coordinating hearing dates, to general case management. This role is an integral part of the law firm and contributes significantly to the success of the firm.Responsibilities: Drafting and preparing state and federal court filings Prooing attorneys' motions and pleadings to ensure accuracy Electronically filing motions, notices, and correspondence using various state and federal court docketing websites Preparing orders for court and monitoring the status of court entered orders Drafting and editing correspondence to maintain clear and effective communication Performing electronic document conversions as needed Corresponding with opposing counsel and court clerks regarding hearings, motions, courtesy copies, etc. as needed for attorneys Interacting and following up with attorneys to ensure completion of filings, hearings, and projects Adhering to tight deadlines provided by court and attorneys Providing backup support for receptionist as neededRequirements Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role. Proficiency in Case Management Software is required for effective execution of duties. Ability to manage calendars and schedules effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites is essential for creating and managing documents and presentations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for effective interaction with clients and team members. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary for managing legal documents and maintaining records. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is essential. Candidates should have a problem-solving mindset and the ability to think critically. A strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Candidates should demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ethical conduct.
