HIRING: Lake Forest Nanny/House Manager (part-time or full-time)

Illinois, Chicago, 60601 Chicago USA
Aplica ya

The parents of three amazing children are conducting a highly selective search for a nanny/house manager. The role in our Lake Forest home may begin as early as August 5th. The position is ideal for a graduate student, a returning international teacher or someone who is pursuing new credentials as part of a career pivot.

The ideal candidate will live a healthy, active lifestyle and be thought of by her or his peers as warm, thoughtful, present, a strong leader and highly organized. We are seeking someone with 2-5 years of experience working with children but all candidates with relevant skills are encouraged to apply.

The Typical Days

On most days, the nanny/house manager will arrive at 6:45-7:00am and help the kids start their routines. A healthy breakfast and nudging the kids to be dressed in their school clothes on time is then followed by a short drive to school. Our family will provide a safe and well-maintained vehicle to be used by you during work hours. After the morning school drop-off, the dog is frequently shuttled to nearby daycare. After cleaning up breakfast and coordinating with the parents on house manager duties (e.g. birthday parties, sports practices, other calendar items, errands, etc.), you would usually be free from 10am to 230pm. Many of our prior nanny/house managers have used this time for completing degrees, professional certifications, or the pursuit of other personal interests. From afternoon school pickup through the early evening, the kids will often have activities, homework and, periodically, playdates. It is during this time that you will work more closely with the kids and support their academic and social growth. Infrequently, both parents may be at an event or working late. In those rare instances, you would be requested to stay later than normal (and would also be welcome to stay the night in our very comfortable guest accommodations, at your option).

Your summer schedule (June through August) would most often be Monday to Friday 7 am to 4 pm. On certain days, the kids may be in an all-day camp, in which case there would be a break in the middle of the day, and on other days, the kids have later and early evening activities for which we may need support.
