Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.Summary:The Development Associate, Annual Giving, supports the coordination and implementation of a comprehensive annual giving program to expand the financial base of support for Rush University Medical Center. Reporting to the Senior Director of Annual Giving, this role collaborates across the annual giving team to drive donor engagement, retention and revenue growth. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Required Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred Job Qualifications:

Some experience (through internships, volunteer work or entry-level roles) in a nonprofit, development office or related environment preferred.

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Competencies:

Strong organizational and project management abilities, with attention to detail.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

Willingness to learn and adapt to donor databases, online platforms and project management tools (training provided).

Analytical mindset with an interest in using data to inform decisions.

Collaborative, team-oriented attitude with strong interpersonal skills.

Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Assist in executing strategies to increase donor participation, retention and revenue across key audiences, including grateful patients, alumni, employees and friends.

Support team in managing multiple direct response projects simultaneously across channels such as mail, email, phone and social media, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

Serve as primary team contact for coordinating and responding the annual giving support requests such as creating appeal codes, giving links, managing intake forms from special appeal requests.

Communicate professionally with individual donors, encouraging and accepting gifts over the phone, answering donor inquiries and connecting donors with appropriate individuals in the office.

Support personalized stewardship efforts, such as preparing data for thank-you calls, printing materials for tribute families, sending thank you notes on behalf of leadership annual giving officer.

Generate reports, prepare segmented data lists and track performance to inform strategies and improve outcomes.

Provide administrative support for annual giving team of four employees through meeting management, coordinating materials, submitting gift information and record updates to maintain accurate database information.

Provide additional support to the Annual Giving team as needed to ensure the success of fundraising initiatives.
