Reporting to the Supervisor, Creative Copy, this role sits within the larger Marketing department. Your role will develop and execute compelling copywriting across a variety of mediums, ensuring our brand voice is consistent, compelling, and drives business results.Our corporate headquarters is in Chicago, IL. This role operates on a hybrid work model; employees spend two days working in the office and three days working remotely. We offer 401k plus vision, dental and medical benefits, as well as a paid holiday and PTO package.Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Develop engaging, persuasive, and clear copy for various channels, including digital and print media, email marketing, product descriptions, social media posts, and advertising campaigns.

Explain, discuss, and justify copy decisions eloquently. Give effective feedback and take direction from other team members.

Maintain and refine Lawson Products' brand voice, ensuring consistency across all communication platforms.

Develop high-quality, SEO-optimized content for website, blogs, and other digital platforms, collateral, events, direct mail and more, tailoring content to align with brand voice and messaging without compromising creativity and readability.

Collaborate with visual, experiential and other brand team members to determine your copy concept and direction are aligned to their work and consistent with value propositions, brand identity, tone and personality.

Interact with other Marketing team members and other cross-functional groups to understand business objectives and audience needs.

Translate creative direction and copy points from creative briefs into engaging and effective copy concepts.

Maintain high standards of copywriting and exercise quality control on all copy.

Ensure our brand guidelines are implemented and consistent in all copy work.

Contribute to the definition and creation of flexible, coherent content strategy, editorial calendar and copy processes.

Participate and contribute to creative brainstorms for brand and product launches.

Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, ensuring grammatical and factual accuracy, as well as compliance with business rules and norms.

Provide concepting and copywriting support for various go-to-market initiatives, with ability to flex your copy skills for each brand and audience segment according to brand guidelines, positioning and industry needs.

Approach complex challenges by distilling content into clear, concise and cohesive messaging by way of creative copy solutioning.

Use data to understand performance of and improve copy across a variety of mediums, both online and offline.

Other Skills and Abilities

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, English, Communications, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B copywriting and content marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong understanding of the creative process; from ideation through implementation

Understanding and previous experience using data to analyze and optimize performance of copy in a variety of mediums

Understanding of copy best practices for print and digital mediums

High level of accountability and abilities to meet deadlines

General understanding of SEO practices within effective, digital-first copy

Strong research skills to stay informed about trends and information relevant to the copy assignments

Familiarity with brand strategy and working from briefs

Exceptional attention to detail with relentlessly high-quality standards

Ability to influence, collaborate and be adaptable within cross-functional teams and internal clients

Ability to distill goals into clean, compelling storytelling through your copy

Hungry to continually learn and improve your craft

Develop and convey brand stories that connect with our audience on an emotional level, enhancing brand loyalty and engagement

Proficiency in juggling multiple, concurrent projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Ability to think out-of-the box and drive creative solutions

Understanding that the input of the team is critical while guiding everyone to be better at what they do and how they perform - we are better together

Excellent written and verbal communication skills while being process-oriented

Organized and focused on optimal team productivity and efficiencies

Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PPT), Adobe Creative Suite

Monday.com, PageProof experience a plus

Portfolio showcasing a variety of writing styles and content types

Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Experience using analytics to make data-driven decisions for improvements in copy

Proven track record of developing and executing successful copy for campaigns across various marketing channels

Strong understanding of marketing principles and best practices in copywriting

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to specific audiences

Proficient in project management tools and content management systems (CMS) is a plus
