Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Attorney/Lawyer in Chicago, Illinois. The successful candidate will be involved in legal processes and cases related to personal injury and medical malpractice, with a focus on defense. The role involves a variety of tasks from drafting legal documents to handling complaints and managing cases. Responsibilities Engage in personal injury and medical malpractice cases, predominantly from a defense perspective. Draft and review legal documents, ensuring their accuracy and relevance to the case at hand. Utilize case management software to organize and manage cases effectively. Handle complaints and inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Employ legal writing skills to articulate complex legal issues and arguments clearly and concisely. Leverage Adobe Acrobat and 3M to manage documentation and enhance productivity. Utilize Conveyancer in the management and tracking of cases. Exhibit expertise in civil litigation to represent and defend clients effectively. Administer claim administration duties, ensuring all claims are processed accurately and efficiently. Stay updated with the latest developments in personal injury law and medical malpractice to provide informed legal counsel. Requirements Must hold a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school Possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as an Attorney/Lawyer Admitted to the bar in the state where the job is located Expertise in civil litigation and personal injury law Experience in handling medical malpractice cases Proficiency in using case management software and document management systems Proficiency in 3M and Adobe Acrobat software Familiarity with Conveyancer software Excellent skills in legal writing and drafting documents Experience in claim administration and complaint handling Knowledge of consumer electronics law is a plus Ability to provide personal injury defense in legal cases Strong skills in briefing and presenting legal arguments Excellent negotiation and communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit high levels of professionalism Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks.
