Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies.

Planate Management Group is committed to help support states in meeting the needs of patients affected by the COVID 19 virus outbreak. We are currently staffing for geographically located construction professionals who will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, implementation, safety, and tracking of short-term construction activities.

We are recruiting for the following potential locations, subject to change:

Orlando and Tampa, FL

Miami, FL

Dallas, TX

Philadelphia, PA

New Orleans, LA

Chicago, IL

Seattle, WA

Sacramento, CA

Los Angeles, CA

Boston

It is anticipated the initial need will be for two to four months.

Key responsibilities:

Provide design and construction project management support

Review and recommend approval or disapproval on submittals of contract deliverables, material data, equipment data, system data, shop drawings, and as-built drawings

Preparation of correspondence, change order requirements (as needed)

Support and assist in the development of government drawings, specifications, cost estimates and justification documents

Review contractor costs proposed work and recommendations

Coordinate and participate in all daily, weekly, special, partial, pre-final and final inspections

Prepare inspection reports, provide recommendations on sign-off of completed projects, prepare final closeout paperwork and custody receipt

Use experience in your geographical area to help identify key contractors to support retrofit and installation of temporary healthcare facilities

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications To be successful in the role:

Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Construction Management or any relevant field of study, or equivalent experience in the construction industry

Desired to have at least 10 years of healthcare environment or medical center construction experience exposed in the design-bid-build and design-build projects

Sound understanding of field construction concepts, principles, and practices applicable to civil, mechanical, electrical and/or environmental engineering concerned with design, layout, and supervision of construction operations

Strong knowledge of safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws, and regulations as they relate to engineering performance requirements. 40 hr EM385-1-1 trained or ability to take such training

Background on safety and quality management in the healthcare construction field

Possess the experience, qualifications, certifications, licenses, physical abilities and other requirements to meet performance period, location, and security requirements as defined

The individual performing work under this PWS shall possess the experience, qualifications, certifications, licenses, physical abilities and other requirements in this PWS to meet performance period, location, and security requirements as defined

Ability to perform strenuous activity while working outdoors in extreme heat or cold, working in confined spaces, climbing and using fall protection equipment will be required on this contract. Assigned staff must present a medical certificate of physical qualification showing that they are physically capable of performing the tasks outlined in the PWS, as well as to effectively work in the rigorous environment of the worksite(s).
