Job Title: VP of Finance / Controller – Construction Industry-ONSITE

Location: Northwest Indiana

Industry: Commercial Construction

About the Opportunity:

A well-established construction firm in Northwest Indiana, with approximately $50 million in annual revenue, is seeking an experienced and strategic financial leader to oversee its financial operations and help drive the company’s next phase of growth. With plans to double in size over the next 3–5 years, this is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on CFO/Controller to play a key role in scaling the business and enhancing operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies to support aggressive growth objectives.

Accounting Oversight: Direct all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger management.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead annual budgeting processes and provide accurate, actionable financial forecasts to support decision-making.

Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to maintain organizational stability and scalability.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial, tax, and regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team to support growth.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.

Experience:

At least 15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles.

Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position.

Construction industry experience is required.

Skills:

Proficiency with construction-related financial software (e.g., QuickBooks).

Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment focused on rapid growth.
