Job Location: West Champaign, Southwood Crossing Apartments
Description: I am a 34-year-old male with a physical disability. I need assistance with activities of daily living, including getting out of bed, showering, dressing, meal assistance, bathroom assistance, as well as helping with other routine light cleaning activities.
Hours below are estimates, and you could work some but not all hours if you prefer. We will meet and discuss more details.
Days/Hours:
Weekdays: 6:30-8:30 am (shower and breakfast)
12-1 pm, 4:30-5:30 pm (bathroom and meal prep)
8:30-9:30 pm (bathroom and bed)
Sat, Sun: 9-1 am (shower and breakfast)
1-2 pm, 4:30-5:30 pm (bathroom and meal prep)
9:30 -10:30 pm (bathroom and bed) (Fri and Sat nights)
Additional Requirements - Be punctual, reliable, safety conscious, and able to work independently. I need people to commit to a schedule, but if you need time off please let me know in advance. Because reliability is very important, you must have dependable transportation.
Previous experience with healthcare or assisting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. If you enjoy working with people and have a friendly, helpful attitude, that’s always a plus.
Pay Details - You will be paid by the Illinois Department of Human Services (Home Services Program) and fill out paperwork before starting work. Because DHS is a state agency, you will need to provide them copies of your Driver's License or State ID as well as your Social Security Card. The pay rate for DHS PAs is currently $17.75 per hour, and will increase every 6 mo in the near future.
