Job Location: Southeast Urbana, near the intersection of Philo and Mumford
Note: This position requires a lot of close-quarters, in-person work. Please wear a facemask while working to help avoid the spread of illnesses. I am currently living with my family, and we have a dog. She is a very friendly Golden Retriever, who loves meeting new people!
Description: As a person with a physical disability, I need assistance with activities of daily living. For this position, I am looking for people to assist me with my morning routine during the week and/or weekend.
On weekdays, the shifts will either be one-and-a-half hours or two hours long (depending on what is needed that day), starting at 6:30 AM. My routine includes assistance with getting out of bed, showering, dressing, breakfast, as well as helping with some other routine activities (light cleaning as needed).
On weekends, (Saturday and Sunday) the shifts will either be one-and-a-half or two hours long (depending on what is needed that day), starting at 9 AM. My weekend routine is the same as above. If interested in weekend shifts, you would only be required to work every other weekend.
Additional Requirements - Be punctual, reliable, safety conscious, and able to work independently. I know that life happens and people need time off, but other than that I need people to commit to the schedule. Just let me know in advance if something comes up. Because reliability is very important, please also have dependable transportation.
Skills – Previous experience with healthcare or assisting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. If you enjoy working with people and have a friendly attitude, that’s always a plus.
Pay Details - You will be paid by the Illinois Department of Human Services (Home Services Program) and fill out paperwork before starting work. Because DHS is a state agency, you will also need to provide copies of your Driver's License or State ID as well as your Social Security Card. The pay rate for DHS PAs is currently $17.25 per hour.
