Quality Inspector1st Shift | $22 | Batavia, ILOverviewThe Quality Inspector will be responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials entering the plant and the finished products leaving the plant. This involves inspecting sheet metal materials to verify quantities, thickness, and material types (Stainless, Carbon, Aluminum, etc.). The role also requires comparing finished products to blueprints, using measuring tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify accuracy. Most quality control activities will take place in the QC office, where inspectors will document their findings appropriately. The typical shift is 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Monday through Friday with overtime after the shifts and occasional Saturdays. Essential Skills
Minimum of 3 years of Quality Control experience in Metals, Plastics, or similar industries (excluding food, liquids, pharmaceuticals).
Quality Control experience in a metal fabrication environment with diverse product types is a plus.
Proficiency with micrometers and calipers.
Experience with blueprints, CMM, Excel, documentation, and fabrication inspection.
Work EnvironmentThe company is not temperature-controlled, and it can get warm during the summer months, particularly near the paintline. The rest of the plant maintains mild conditions typical of a manufacturing floor. While there is some noise from machinery, it is not excessively loud.
