Kraus Farms is searching for a office administration / bookkeeper to join our team. Accurate records are foundational to our business operations, and the ideal candidate will know how to keep records in the best possible order. They will integrate new technologies into their work to improve efficiency, all the while keeping our company’s best interests top of mind. The successful candidate will also collaborate with managers to update our team on daily and long-term business functions. This position will start as part time and transition into full time.
Objectives of this role
Keep accurate records of company finances
Monitor financial health and compliance
Strengthen organizational culture by collaborating with the accounting and management
Take note of and report discrepancies in financial records
Minimize and quickly correct errors
Organize and maintain field and crop data
Tracking work in progress
Responsibilities
Record daily company transactions
Close books monthly
Manage accounts payable and receivable, as well as hours and payroll
Collecting and monitoring and adjust time card entries for payroll
Track field yields
Track commodity deliveries
Estimate/Track income projections and work in progress
Skills and qualifications
Strong understanding of accounting and financial operations
Proficiency with QuickBooks
Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office
Honesty and discretion when working with sensitive information
Capacity to quickly perform calculations
Excellent working with spreadsheets
Comfortable navigating the internet
Eager to learn new tasks, trainable, open minded and flexible
Able to switch gears quickly and efficiently
Agricultural knowledge preferred
Preferred qualifications
Strong intrinsic motivation, a self starter possessing the initiative to work with limited supervision
High degree of personal organization
Strong verbal and written communication skills
