Job Title: North Central Idaho Branch Manager

Classification: Full-Time, Exempt

Department: Operations

Reports to: Vice President of Operations

Location: Lewiston, ID

Job Summary:

Directs, administers and coordinates the overall operations of The Idaho Foodbank in the North Central Region, including development, community outreach, partners & programs, distribution, logistics, transportation, and inventory control. This position actively engages and seeks regional financial and food donors, represents The Idaho Foodbank and its programs, and promotes hunger awareness in the North Central counties.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervisory

Supervise operations for The Idaho Foodbank’s North Central Facility, including staff and volunteers.

Provide guidance, mentorship and support to staff.

Provide leadership and training to ensure that the work is completed correctly and safely with priority given to both The Idaho Foodbank and partner agency needs while minimizing costs.

Maintain overall compliance with all applicable Federal, State, County, Local and industry standards including Feeding America and food safety standards for the receiving, handling, storage and distribution of donated and purchased food products and packaging materials. Lead team members to build a strong, consistent culture of food safety. Work closely with the Food Safety and Compliance Coordinator to support the food safety management system.

Maintain compliance with all OSHA standards for occupational safety including ensuring the completion of safety inspections, employee training and necessary documentation. Must be a model of a safe workplace and lead team members to build a strong safety culture through expectation, support and compliance.

Ensure training objectives for staff are met and competency assessed as needed.

Serve as designated alternate for Food Safety Program Contact for the warehouse.

Provide the Finance and Administration Department with timely and accurate information, records and receipts regarding donations, expenses, etc.

Outreach

Serve as the Idaho Foodbank spokesperson for the region. Conduct public outreach to the community through active participation in media events, business groups, and other forms of public relations.

Coordinate food and fund drives.

Coordinate with Chief Development Officer and statewide team to develop and implement fundraising strategies that support the fundraising goals for the North Central Region of The Idaho Foodbank.

Develop and maintain relationships with volunteers, food, and financial donors in the region.

Develop communication strategies and support coordinated messaging to the partner agency network.

Maintain comprehensive records of all contacts and activities via Raisers Edge.

Operations

Directly supervise the logistics, distribution, and transportation manager.

Supervise facility maintenance and warehouse in sanitation in full compliance with all pertinent health, safety, Feeding America, AIB and standards.

Supervise daily filing, tracking and reporting of partner orders, bank deposits, mail and other pertinent areas.

Ensure success of Agency Partner Programs such as Backpack, School Pantry, Nutrition Education, CSFP, and TEFAP.

Facilities Maintenance

Keep records to track warehouse/building maintenance and appropriate equipment readings.

Manage the facility maintenance program.

Manage the facility and equipment training program.

Ensure all daily/weekly/monthly logs are current and accurate as required by Feeding America, AIB guidelines and/or internal policy at all times.

Planning

Coordinate with Vice President of Operations to project future warehouse and service needs and program development.

Attend periodic distribution, workforce, management, and budget planning meetings.

Participate in strategic planning.

Food Safety:

Commit to upholding policies, principles and best practices for food safety.

Understand the personal responsibility to follow all safety policies and health rules, programs and procedures, to report all unsafe acts, environment or behaviors immediately and to always report safety issues, incidents or accidents immediately.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years equivalent management experience.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Cloud Based systems.

Have a valid Driver’s License, access to an automobile and current automobile insurance.

Excellent organizational and coalition building skills.

Demonstrated excellence in customer service.

Media relations and fundraising experience.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to facilitate, coach, and motivate staff.

Strong problem solving, analytical, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to work independently in a multi-cultural environment.

Experience in the food industry and warehouse management desired.

Working Conditions

This work is performed primarily in an office environment, but also includes warehouse and outdoor events for extended periods of time. Will involve periodic lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds. May work outside normal working hours and drive own vehicle for various projects on a daily basis throughout the service region to events or donor/agency visits.
