Located in the LC Valley, Lewis-Clark State College (LC State) is a unique small-college that is student-centered and provides a hands-on experience. About the role:

This position is responsible for the operation of the college’s financial accounting system including receipts and disbursements. The primary responsibilities include financial statement presentation and financial oversight of treasury management, accounts payable, payroll, and supervision of respective personnel. This position also assists the Lewis-Clark State College Foundation with financial statement review. The Controller’s and Budget office is a component of Financial Services that is part of the Administrative Services college unit. The departments work together to manage the financial aspects of the institution.

Anticipated salary range:

$90,000-$105,000

What you will be doing in your role:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Oversee college checking and savings accounts including responsibility for all receipts, disbursements, and banking activity including investing excess funds.

Oversee annual independent audit and prepare annual and quarterly financial statements.

Oversee departmental copy machine acquisition and administration.

Oversee property, plant and equipment accounting.

Serve on planning, assessment, and search committees.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Finance and Administration.

Review and approve journal entries and various account reconciliations.

Provide input/insight related to financial management aspects of the college’s transition to digital platforms.

Take a proactive and hands on approach to streamlining and making business operations more efficient.

Assist the Lewis-Clark State College Foundation with financial statement review and annual audit.

What we would like to see from you:

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field.

Designation as a certified public accountant (CPA).

Demonstrated progressively responsible financial management experience.

Financial experience in higher education.

Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field.

Experience using an enterprise resource planning system (ERP).

Experience managing financial operations.

Experience analyzing and preparing financial statements.

Experience preparing audit work papers and working with external auditors on a Single Audit.

Experience analyzing and modifying reporting software to assist in preparing financial reports.
